Description
Entrepreneurship is the process through which individuals, the entrepreneurs, transform problems into opportunity and add value. In most Sub-Sahara Africa, many schools and training institutions are still performing the missions assigned to them after the independence, which was to train senior managers to fill the gap in the public and private sectors. Unfortunately, in 2026, the rate of job creation is far from meeting the very fast population growth, increasing the rate of unemployment especially among Graduates. But most of these countries face difficulties in almost all sectors of activities, and it will be legitimate to ask why their entrepreneurs are not turning these problems into opportunities! This is the developing countries’ paradox: countries of enormous opportunities with high unemployment rates. Many Governments are now conscious of the problems and have so far been developing strategies to curb this situation. In Cameroon for instance, the Government has changed its paradigm by putting more emphasis on entrepreneurship. This was notable with the creation of “One-stop Shop” for business creation in all the 10 Regions to faster business creation, the creation of banks for Small Businesses, the dedication of a Ministry to Small Businesses, and the introduction of entrepreneurship in school curriculum from basic education to University. The objective behind it is to gradually transform the mind-set of learners to great economic game changers. After the first textbook on Entrepreneurship Fundamentals with a focus on Cameroon, this textbook is an alignment to this strategy as it lays down the foundation of entrepreneurship courses.
